Thoughts on 06/08 Raw

Tonight I sat down and watched all two hours of Monday Night Raw for the first time in years. I seriously can’t think of the last time I sat down and watched Raw from beginning to end. Heck, it might have been when I was in high school. If this Raw was any indicator of what Raw has been like over the past few years I’m going to conclude I haven’t been missing much which really surprises me with all the talented individuals on the roster.
Legacy, The Colons, Kofi Kingston, MVP, Matt Hardy, The Brian Kendrick, and William Regal are all guys I read great things about online and from what I’ve seen of each their praise from the internet community is well deserved. With such talent how can they only put on one quality match (Priceless vs. The Colons) in their two hours?
I also liked the whole Randy Orton/Batista angle until Triple H showed up. I’ve never been a big fan of Triple H outside of the late 1990s when he was with HBK in the original DX. Reading online and in books about his supposed use of politics backstage spoils seeing him on screen for me. And the fact is the “Batista” chants when the ambulance showed up was a lot louder then the reaction Triple H received.
While I was watching Raw I got the feeling I could be doing something better with my time but I kept watching in order to blog about the show. I’m hoping to do the same next week but I’m not sure if I can sit through three hours if it is going end up being like this week’s program.
