Professional wrestling; some may think of wrestling as a joke but I know better. Ever since I can remember I watched professional wrestling. I grew up during an exciting time for the professional wrestling industry, during the Monday Night Wars. I would always switch between watching WCW and the then WWF. When I was introduced to ECW, ironically at 10 years old, I became an instant fan of the extreme promotion.
Fast forward to today: I’m still a fan of wrestling although I don’t think the current mainstream products (WWE and TNA) are at their full potential. Actually to be completely honest I haven’t watched WWE as much in recent years. Last time I watched WWE regularly was 2003-2004 when Smackdown was a part of the TV programming I watched. Part of the reason for this is I prefer professional wrestling over sports entertainment. While they may seem to be the same thing to the general public real wrestling fans know there is a difference.
I started watching TNA regularly in 2004 because of their X-Division and tag team division. In recent years my interest in the product has declined but I still followed the promotion, partly because I write a column entitled The Hardcore Truth for wrestling website tnawrestlingnews.com. Reading good things on the internet, I’m tempted to start watching Smackdown regularly again.
I decided to start this blog so I have a channel to share my wrestling related thoughts albeit on WWE, TNA, wrestling DVDs, or another wrestling related subject. I hope you find my wrestling blog both interesting and entertaining and if I say something that really strikes you I want you to be willing to leave a comment on the blog post. So go ahead and grab yourself a cyber-beer so we can raise our cyber-drinks to each other for a cyber-toast- “Here is to the start of something hopefully great!”
