William Regal

Last week in my post “ECW- Too Much Talent?” I criticized the WWE for their criminal misuse of William Regal on ECW. I said William Regal should be on the show weekly either working with the younger wrestlers or in the ECW Title picture. Well, somebody in the WWE must have read my post because last night William Regal was named the #1 contender for the ECW Championship.
I’m excited to see Regal being put in the title picture. Regal and Christian should deliver some great matches. Putting Regal in the title picture opens ECW to a new realm of possibilities too. I think William Regal and Christian should feud for a couple of months. During this time young talents like Tyler Reks and Yoshi Tatsu can continue to improve themselves in the ring and show the WWE Universe what they are made of.
At the end of the Christian/Regal feud, Regal should win the ECW Championship. With a heel as champion there is more potential title feuds considering most of ECW’s new wrestlers are faces. Regal will be able to feud with the likes of Tyler Reks and Yoshi Tatsu. Who would be left for Christian to feud with? Zack Ryder? The fact is William Regal is the best veteran to carry the ECW brand throughout the rest of 2009.
