TNA Top 10 Matches: America's Most Wanted vs. Triple X Turning Point 2004
May 28th 2012 04:10
America’s Most Wanted (Chris Harris & James Storm) vs. Triple X (Christopher Daniels & Elix Skipper) from Turning Point 2004 begins the top five of my TNA Top 10 Matches list. You might recall five years ago when I created a TNA Top Five Matches list in order to commemorate the company’s five-year anniversary this bout ranked second. Yes, half a decade later the Turning Point 2004 tag team contest drops three spots.
Honestly the ranking drop revolves around TNA eventually ignoring the match’s stipulation more than recent bouts earning the limelight. You see, for the first two-and-a-half years of TNA’s existence America’s Most Wanted and Triple X feuded with each other on and off. Turning Point 2004 served as the rivalry’s climax, with both teams climbing inside the six sides of steel. Stipulation dictated the losing team must disband for good.
Well, Triple X lost. Daniels and Skipper ended up going their separate ways while Chris Harris and James Storm continued shining within TNA’s tag team division. However, three years later in 2007 Triple X magically reformed without one mention of Turning Point 2004. Maybe I’m too much a stickler but the Triple X reunion disappointed me. By not living up to the stipulation TNA comprised the Turning Point 2004 tag team match’s significance and consequently caused America’s Most Wanted vs. Triple X to drop to five on my TNA Top 10 Matches list.
