This week’s iMPACT! was the go-home show for TNA’s PPV this Sunday- Victory Road. The main storyline going into Victory Road is the Main Event Mafia’s opportunity to win all the gold. Kevin Nash will challenge AJ Styles for the TNA Legends Championship. Scott Steiner & Booker T will challenge Beer Money for the TNA World Tag Team Titles. The main event will see Mick Foley challenging Kurt Angle for the TNA Heavyweight Championship.
If I had to make a prediction I’ll say the Main Event Mafia makes a clean sweep at Victory Road, winning all the championships. I don’t want that to happen. I think TNA needs to give AJ Styles or Beer Money the win. Otherwise TNA’s own homegrown talent will come out looking like second-rate wrestlers and I feel this is the promotion’s biggest problem. TNA is unable to keep their homegrown talent in the spotlight.
Jay Lethal, The Motor City Machine Guns, Abyss, and Kaz are all examples of wrestlers who should be TNA Wrestling. Instead they are just a part of TNA due to the veterans like Jeff Jarrett, Mick Foley, Sting, Kurt Angle, Scott Steiner, Booker T, and Kevin Nash taking the spotlight. If AJ Styles and Beer Money both lose their titles at Victory Road TNA will continue to damage the credibility of THEIR wrestlers, the TNA Originals.
