Read Part I here
The Heartbreak Kid, the Show Stopper, Mr. Wrestlemania. Shawn Michaels earned each nickname through his charisma and in-ring work. Watching Shawn Michaels My Journey makes this evident, especially when talking about the Mr. Wrestlemania moniker. Shawn Michaels My Journey includes three HBK Wrestlemania bouts since his 2002 return- Wrestlemania XIX vs. Chris Jericho, Wrestlemania 21 vs. Kurt Angle, and Wrestlemania 25 vs. The Undertaker. Other standout post-return matches include vs. Randy Orton at Survivor Series 2007 and vs. Chris Jericho at Unforgiven 2008.
Insight Michaels shares with Michael Cole between matches will interest diehard wrestling fans. I found HBK’s comments on his feud with Hulk Hogan intriguing. However, my favorite insight Michaels shares occurs during the final DVD interview segment. He claims success doesn’t shape a person. Instead, the adversary one faces on the road to success shapes. This idea transcends professional wrestling and teaches a valuable life lesson.
Overall I recommend Shawn Michaels My Journey to any WWE fan. Michaels participated in numerous memorable matches for the WWE. The fact the WWE released three Heartbreak Kid DVDs filled with different but still entertaining matches speaks wonders to Shawn Michaels’ charisma and wrestling abilities.
