Rollerblading – Extreme Asphalt

A Brief History of Rollerblades
In the 1960’s and 70’s there were roller skates, roller discos and rollerball then in the 1980’s an inline skate revolution occurred. The old, clunky 4 wheeled boot was a product of its time with little interest in safety or the technology of speed and agility.
Rollerblades popularity seemed to boom overnight, invented for Russian speed skaters to practice in the summer months they are easier to use than traditional rollerskates. Serving as a mode of transportation and recreational sport, it wasn’t long though before some decided to test the limits of what was possible and soon stunt jumps, big air and high speed action formed a more professional arena.
Skating in half pipes, soaring with aerial acrobatics or slalom precision, today the sport appears in many extreme sports events and is practised by millions around the world.
