The Guinness Book of World Records

The most hardcore and extreme things in our World
The Guinness Book of Records used to be read through meticulously in my house when I was a kid. Scouring the pages of the book to find statistics on groundbreaking scientific achievements, architectural wonders and curiosities of the natural world, sports, film, music, and of course death defying feats were included.
According to the Guinness Book of world records site
“In 1951, Sir Hugh Beaver, then the managing director of the Guinness Brewery, went on a shooting party and became involved in an argument. Which was the fastest game bird in Europe – the golden plover or the grouse? He realized then that a book supplying the answers to this sort of question might prove popular. He was right".
Launching its 2009 edition soon the book seems to have become the end word on who deserves the recognition From details of the world’s fastest fish to longest tater-tot (Sorry See saw, Brady Bunch moment) marathon.
I haven’t seen a new edition for about 5 years so I’m not sure if there is extreme sports included since the recent X games that was attended by the Guinness crew. Below I have compiled a few world record breaking heartstoppers of riders going the highest, furthest and hardest anyone ever has.
Before that here is a taster, some interesting world record facts on a variety of subjects from the official Guiness World Records and Extreme Science Records site; (Who says this site isn’t educational.)
