The Man with the Jet Wing Vision

If man was meant to fly…
So hang gliding is a buzz and base jumping is a thrill, but according to thetechherald.com a Swiss man by the name of Yves Rossy needs more to get his pulse racing.
Known as “Fusion man” Yves is an ex fighter pilot who spent 4 years developing a new way for man to fly. Attaching four small jet engines to a set of home made wings, he made his maiden flight over the Rhone Valley this week.
Jumping from a plane and then igniting the wings that are capable of propelling him up to 186 MPH “Fusion man” performed figure eights and barrel roles while stunned onlookers gasped.
Watching the footage below conjures images of Iron Man soaring high above the earth. Controlled by body position, the delicate stunt wings are sensitive to the slightest movement and demand complete focus to remain stable in the air.
From thetechherald.com:
“Physically, it’s absolutely no stress,” Rossy said in an Associated Press report. “It’s like being on a motorbike.”
This test flight is only the first step in achieving his larger goal of crossing the English Channel, which is planned for next year. In no danger of having imitators just yet, the one off jet wings may become an extreme sport accessory in the future. Carrying a price tag of more than $250,000 dollars to develop, the marketing side will have to wait until further successful tests.
