Last night’s ECW was one of the brand’s best shows in awhile. The William Regal/Christian feud is shaping up very nicely. Their main event match last night was great. Going into the main event I had no doubt William Regal was going to win and secure himself another title shot. As the match unfolded I found myself on the edge of my chair, starting to think Christian might actually pull this one off. However, Regal did end up winning. I’m hoping Regal and Christian will have their title match at Breaking Point in a submission match. A Regal/Christian submission match has the makings to be a classic five star bout.
Now onto the rest of the show- I liked the ending of the Sheamus/Goldust match. I’m hoping this week’s double count out will lead into an Extreme Rules match between the two. The Zack Ryder/Shelton Benjamin feud is progressing nicely too. Ryder should benefit a lot from feuding with the veteran. I think Tyler Reks and Yoshi Tatsu showed good chemistry together as a tag team. Given the chance Reks and Tatsu could become a great tag team. ECW also did a good job of promoting the Burchill/Hurricane rematch that will take place on Superstars this week.
My final two comments on this week’s ECW are the following. 1. Where was Tommy Dreamer? 2. Abraham Washington, you were NOT missed!
