A lot can change in one week. I was on vacation last week so I didn’t get a chance to watch any kind of wrestling. Therefore I was surprised last night when I turn on ECW to see almost an entirely new cast of wrestlers. Gone were my favorite youngsters- Jack Swagger, Evan Bourne, and The Hart Dynasty. In their place were a bunch of no-name talented initiative superstars.
I have mixed feelings on the roster shake up. I hope Swagger and Bourne will find success on Raw instead of being lost in the shuffle. I’m very excited to see what Smackdown has in store for The Hart Dynasty. However, I do not like the new talent initiative. This isn’t the first time ECW implemented a talent initiative. The first time wasn’t too successful either. Does anyone remember the name Brandon Walker?
I’m not going to write off the new ECW just yet. I’ll give the new roster a chance to prove they can be as entertaining as Jack Swagger, Evan Bourne, The Hart Dynasty, and the other superstars no longer on the ECW roster.
