The Current ECW Roster
July 22nd 2009 16:08
A month ago the landscape of ECW (my favorite WWE brand) changed. ECW had become my favorite WWE brand because of the young stars like The Hart Dynasty, Evan Bourne, and Jack Swagger. Those wrestlers along with veterans Fit Finley and Mark Henry were all a part of the 15 man trade which shook up the WWE Universe and left ECW with a new crop of unknown wrestlers. The unknown wrestlers were brought in as a part of the “New Talent Initiative”. I think enough time has passed that it would be fair to start judging the current ECW roster.
The current ECW roster still has a fair balance of veterans and youngsters. One youngster who seems to have a lot of momentum going for him is Yoshi Tatsu. Tatsu has been in competitive matches, shown an incredible enthusiasm and has the support of the WWE Universe. Tatsu will likely have a bright future on ECW.
Last night Tyler Reks caught my attention with his upset victory over Paul Burchill. This was my first time seeing Reks wrestle and he defiantly showed he has in-ring skills. Youngsters like Tatsu and Reks mixed with established veterans like William Regal and Shelton Benjamin should make ECW an exciting brand to watch over the next couple of months.
