BFG Best: AJ Styles vs. Christian Cage vs. Booker T Bound for Glory IV
October 14th 2011 23:34
In just two days Impact Wrestling presents their biggest annual pay per view Bound for Glory. Over the years Bound for Glory produced some great matches. “BFG Best” posts will revisit these bouts. Selected matches demonstrate solid back story, entertaining action, and sound in-ring psychology.
“The Instant Classic” Christian Cage, Booker T, and “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles competed in a triple threat match at Bound for Glory IV. The three way bout served as a prelude to the Main Event Mafia/Frontline storyline. Christian Cage a well-established veteran spent nearly three years in TNA and participated in memorable matches with the likes of Abyss, Kaz, and Samoa Joe amongst others. Basically Christian could rightfully align with either the veterans or TNA originals thus making the triple threat intriguing.
Christian Cage’s actions proved the focus point early on. Styles and Booker T started battling each other leaving “The Instant Classic” an onlooker. The former TNA Heavyweight Champion entered the fray shortly later but without aligning with “The Phenomenal One” or Booker T. Styles’ stunning acrobatic moves including a beautiful pele kick and hurricane pulled off from the mat really helps the TNA original standout.
Overall the critically acclaimed Kurt Angle/Jeff Jarrett bout from Bound for Glory IV will likely outshine the triple threat match but Christian Cage vs. AJ Styles vs. Booker T deserves to be celebrated for its own greatness.
