Best of the Decade- The TNA Knockouts
December 2nd 2009 18:37
I’ve been a wrestling fan my entire life but not one time could I recall being interested in women’s wrestling. Well, that was until “Bound for Glory 2007” when TNA crowned their first Knockouts Champion and kick-started the Knockouts division. Unlike the WWE women’s division, which features generic but good looking women who don’t know a wristlock from a wrist watch, the TNA Knockouts division has an abundance of women wrestlers with unique personalities that can deliver inside the six sided ring.
The TNA Knockouts division did struggle for awhile after Gail Kim left to go back to the WWE but I think in the past few months TNA has really picked up their game with the Knockouts. The additions of Tara, Hamada, Sarita, and Daffney to the division have been great. I especially enjoy the wrestling of Hamada and Sarita. Both have unique styles not seen in the American women’s wrestling circuit before. I really hope we get to see a lot more of Hamada and Sarita in the next decade.
Overall, the TNA Knockouts have made me a fan of women’s wrestling which is something I never thought I would be. For this reason the TNA Knockouts deserve to be highlighted amongst the “Best of the Decade”.
