Thoughts on 09/01 ECW- False Advertising & Stupidity
September 3rd 2009 14:55
I found this week’s edition of ECW to be very disappointing. The main disappoint came with the “encore presentation” of the Shawn Michaels/Undertaker Wrestlemania 25 match. By advertising the match as an “encore presentation”, the WWE made it seem like they were going to show the match in its entirety. However, what they showed was a music video with clips of the Wrestlemania 25 match. The WWE completely misrepresented themselves with their advertising.
If the false advertising wasn’t bad enough, the WWE made themselves look like idiots. The ECW main event was a “No Count Out/No Disqualification” match between Sheamus and Goldust. I’m still trying to figure out how a “No Count Out/No Disqualification” match differs from an “Extreme Rules” match. I know its just semantics but I still think it is important to stay consistent. Otherwise the product comes off as amateurish.
The only good I saw coming out of this week’s ECW was the return of Tommy Dreamer. I’m looking forward to seeing what Christian and Tommy Dreamer have in store for William Regal and his maniacal round table.
